Biography:

Vidyuddeva is a Zen priest, a movement-arts and bodyworking practitioner, and a spiritual teacher who emphasizes transcending the human limitation while including the human condition. He is also an Integral awareness coach and spiritual director to executives and business leaders, and works closely with the Stagen Leadership Institute Research and Development team pioneering new integral practice designs and methodologies.

He has taught university classes and workshops on awareness, spirituality, and world wisdom traditions, and serves communities as a consultant and speaker at high schools, religious organizations, and prisons. He recently completed certification in Asian and Western bodyworking modalities, and leads a monthly facilitated insight gathering at Training for Life Community Center in his hometown of Minneapolis.

He studied for nearly ten years at Dharma Field under Steve Hagen, and was ordained in the American Soto Peregrine Lineage in 1999. Vidyuddeva has extensive training in the areas of internal martial arts and qi gong with Ron Sieh and exercise and fitness with Pavel Tsatsouline, as well as dance at Zenon Dance Academy and theater under Steven DiMenna.

Vidyuddeva’s work recognizes distinction without division, and emphasizes and celebrates the centrality of heart, the primacy of being, and the essentiality of awareness. His teaching orientation is informed by an integral framework that uses the intersection of Zen, Taoism, Tantra, constructivist-developmental theory, Action-Logics, and western bio-energetic and psycho-dynamic approaches.

Vidyuddeva is dedicated to cultivating, realizing, and celebrating the radical inclusion of all dimensions of being rooted in the direct awareness of immediate experience. This practice approach reveals and clarifies apparent distortions in the spontaneous activity of thinking, feeling, and sensation, neither avoiding nor renouncing the contraction of the bodymind, but releasing it as the non-duality of Spirit’s fulfillment of freedom.
